Are there any chemicals used in this sauna?
The wood is unstained, raw and untreated on the interior, it's also made from untreated Canadian Hemlock. Apart from that there's no obvious other chemicals, and the manufacturer claims that the sauna is safe and that no toxic chemicals are released during usage.
Does the sauna get smelly after repeated usage?
It seems that this is not an issue. Several users report just placing a towel under them when sitting on the bench. It's also mentioned that the sweat produced and expired when sitting in a sauna is quite different from that produced when working out, and it's no where near as odour producing.
